Ben's 101 Things In 1001 Days

Sep 19 2010

Awesome Cool Time, sadly, has come to an end.

It has been good fun; I hope to come back with something bigger and better soon.

I say that to keep you watching, I have no ideas or plans RIGHT NOW. I’ll get something.

Fresher’s week is boring. I want to meet some nerds already.

HAPPY TIMES

Oh, also. I’ve moved out.

Powercut today as well. It was cool, I met my [presently] only flatmate. He is also cool.

Oh, also, also. Nice meal with the folks at Frankie and Benny’s. Shaun was there, and Cedes was there, and Miller was there, and Zoë was there, and Christie was there…

Sep 12 2010

day three hundred and forty seven (12/09/10)

89. Vote in a real election.

Not the outcome I wanted by any means but, hey, I voted; nothing seems that much different. Alas.

36. Play 10 different board games with the group.

To quote Cedes:

Five so far: Monopoly, chess, The Perplex City Board Game, Connect 4, and Rummikub. Good stuff, good stuff.

And I totally beat her at Chess. Twice. And Toby doesn’t believe in global warming.

40. Go to a music festival.

Once again, I am too lazy to post my own content hooray

day two hundred and eighty nine (16/07/10)

I don’t update this at all! Hooray!

I’d never had much alcohol at all before this challenge, but I’ve committed myself to trying 10 forms of it, and I have!

Gin, lager, brandy, vodka, white wine, red wine, rosé, Pimm’s, cider, and rum.

And I’m not completely convinced I like any of them. Oh well. Back to the juiceboxes.

day one hundred and eighty eight (06/04/10)

80. Donate a substantial amount of money to a street musician.

I love buskers. I have rarely seen a poor performance from any busker in the UK, and today was no exception. Street music should definitely be supported, because it costs the musician themselves to obtain a licence, and hell, they do deserve the money they receive.

Therefore, I donated ten British pounds to this buskerman:

… I hope to do the same to others in the future; not just make it a one-off. In my haste and excitement to DONATE MONEY I did not catch his name. Oh well. If he’s big and famous and I just didn’t recognise him, do tell me.

Feb 21 2010

day one hundred and forty four (21/02/10)

25. Write a song.
59. Get published.

Ha! A song? I’ve got an ALBUM, guys. So I’ve completed this one a few times over. Wait, what’s that? On Amazon, you say? Oh yes, it is. Oh, iTunes? Eep, sorr- nope, it’s on there too! A-ha! Sweet success! The physical copies [for #59] sold out in one week - I have a fanbase somewhere. :)

29. Meet someone from the internet.

Not that there is any proof, but there is a lovely lady under the pseudonym of Mouse out there than I met recently - much quieter than I expected her to be but equally, if not more, adorable, in real life. Great success there :D

37. Play an online PC game with 3 other people from the group.

Surprisingly, for a short while, Tom got his internet back and we were storming some CSS and L4D with Brett and Jowan. I think this counts as a completion!

45. Go ice-skating.

Never. Again.

Not only did I slip over, I got out-skated by a 6-year-old girl who was going backwards and everything. What they don’t tell you in the disclaimer for ice skating is that you’re skating. on. ice. ICE. The slippy stuff that has no friction at all. I was clinging onto the side for most of the event, and may or may not have broken Thryn’s shoulder from holding onto her hand so much :( Sorry dear.

Anyway, I don’t need to do it again. Though, I probably will. I can and will get it one day. FIGHT THE POWER. I don’t think it quite counts for #85.
